Drolatic Patches: Ostentatious

A fabric patch featuring a creature from "The Drolatic Dreams of Pantagruel" (Les songes drolatiques de Pantagruel"), a book of woodcuts believed to be the work of François Desprez. There is very little information about these critters, as the book had no text, so please find some silly little delight in them like we do! The running idea is that so many artists around this time period in the 1500s were making satirical art, Desprez was thinking, "what if I make my own satire art of their satirical pieces, and then everyone realllly over thinks it. that would be funny."
